Rotgod chronology: 2019

2019 started amidst huge uncertainty.
Due to certain difficulties in the drum recording department, the project had entered what could be defined as "development hell", slowing down the process considerably. I still managed to finish the remaining bass recordings in a rather short time, while I kept tracking more vocals as each instrumental was completed.

Over that time period, I also tracked all solos with the help of Jan and another great guitarist, David Distefano. Even the mighty Ciccio Paladino (who would later join the unstoppable grinders One Day in Fukushima) was involved on drums for "Inner crisis", "Salomé", "New age mumbo-jumbo" and the Schizo cover "Psycho terror".

Meanwhile, around the end of the year, Onìkarus started working on the artworks for the digital singles, finishing the cover art for "Before the impact..." in no time and also starting to work on "Sybaritic metal". Around that time, I also chose the final title for the album, "Sonic degeneracy", after a series of working titles that never really convinced me - and I decided to use the concept art I had envisioned for the "Organic machine" single as the official album cover instead.

My exhaustion at the time was still huge, and I managed to write very little new music as a consequence - even though, around the end of the year, I started laying down again some ideas for future songs, most notably "IdPol is a waste of time (both left and right)" and the "Eternal return" instrumental.
I finished the recordings in november amidst huge fatigue, doing the final vocal sessions for "Jesus Christ pornostar". From that point on, I just had to mix everything, something I could easily do from home. And I didn't know yet how vital this point would become, shortly thereafter: I had finished the work JUST IN TIME...
