Rotgod chronology: 2020

2020 began on a rather positive note: right around that time, I was finishing the editing/pre-mixing process for the recordings, gearing up to start proper mixing, while Onìkarus and Gore Occulto kept working on the artworks.

It seemed like "Sonic degeneracy" was finally close to be finished.

Then, unfortunately, COVID struck us all with the consequences we all know. I took advantage of the first lockdown to re-think some lyrics and re-record some vocal lines straight from home (for example, updating "Uncertain future" with the "global pandemics" line and rewriting/re-recording lyrics for an entire song, which became "MeTaL iS dUmB") - but it was only during summer (thanks to infection decrease) that I could finally concentrate on something I had envisioned for a long time.

Between august and october, I shot the videos for "Denial of nature" and "Sybaritic metal", the latter with the help of numerous guests including Krosty, Jan, Lorenzo "Subhuman" (who played bass for Spasticus at the time) and Miasma Sulfureo (member of Trinakria and Lutto, later involved in my own side-project The Ineffable). Truth be told, some parts of the "Denial of nature" clip had already been shot throughout 2018, during the recording sessions for that song, but everything else dates back exactly to this time period.

In august, I also started the actual mixing process - an activity that would absorb me for all the following months, giving me quite some headache... but at least I knew how to spend my time, during the second lockdown.

Meanwhile, I also kept amassing more and more new riffs, some of which would turn into actual songs over the course of the following year.

"Sonic degeneracy" was finally approaching completion, with the release date set for 2021. Two years late, but still better than nothing, right?
