Lyrics dissect and rip to shreds all dogmas of conventional morality, bringing everything back to a blank slate and seeing only what's tangible, to the point of remaining with nihilism and hedonism as the only two acceptable "-isms" in the list. We're ultimately driven by instinct, self-interest and hunger to satisfy ourselves, and all the intelligence of this world won't give us any higher purpose than that. Like it or not, that's how humanity has always worked, regardless of our metaphysical justifications for so-called "objective morality".
