Trivia

This is Rotgod's message in a nutshell: the utter rejection of spirituality and transcendentalism, and the total embrace of carnal pleasure and life in the immanent, as represented by popular italian trash icons Andrea Diprè (who inspired the the word "sybaritic" in the title) and former senator Antonio Razzi (quoted in the "what I do, I've never repented" line). A half-serious, half-joking love letter to hedonism and italian trash culture, all at once.

Musically, these are some of the first riffs I've ever created, and probably the very first ones I was ever satisfied with, since they stayed stuck in my head for years until I wrote them down in a proper song. Early Kreator is definitely the biggest influence here, but not the only one.

Lyrics

Sybaritic metal

Advocates of sin

Hymns of unapologetic

Degeneracy

Without preconstructions

Instinct takes control

Tabula rasa

Just let yourself go

What I do

I've never repented

Disdain for values

And moral codes

Exploit your own senses

Take all they can give

No need for good words

No "peace and love"

Don't justify

No P.C. bullshit

It's just our nature

Take it or leave it

Don't moralize

Don't absolutize

Your integrity

Is weaker than you think

No real selflessness

Just a fairytale

At the heart of all

LIES SELF-INTEREST

Sybaritic metal

Advocates of sin

Hymns of unapologetic

Degeneracy

Without preconstructions

Instinct takes control

Tabula rasa

JUST LET ALL BONDS GO
