An official website for Rotgod?

Yup. Let me explain.

With the recent release of the "Raw is the law" EP, in digital and 12" vinyl format (ultra-limited edition), I celebrated ten years since I started this morbid, deranged music project.

Ten years? Hasn't Rotgod been active only for a few years? Few years, my ass. Rotgod has been active since 2015 - the year I started writing music with a clear goal in mind and a precise musical vision that would morph over time into what now exists under the name of "Sonic degeneracy".

A decade of activity is no small task - with all the music I wrote and the countless trials and tribulations I had to go through in order to record and release it, always working with a 100% DIY attitude and without any huge promotional push behind me.

So, I think the time has finally come to engrave every trace of this decade-long journey onto some sort of Internet compendium, not reliant on social media constraints and algorithms (with anything you post getting rapidly buried by newer content, therefore easily forgotten), where all of Rotgod's history and musical legacy are instead meticulously catalogued, the questions I get asked more often find quick and easy answers (I set up a FAQ section in the page Bio just for that) while hopefully wiping out for good the rumors, misconceptions and incorrect views on my music that still manage to find some traction from time to time (oftentimes being themselves the product of an equally erroneous understanding of 80's underground metal/punk - the only "scene" Rotgod is willing to acknowledge and be truly inspired by).

So yeah: an old school website, like many from the Internet 1.0 era, in total anachronistic defiance (just like my music has always been) against "short-lived/short form content" and the "attention span black hole" that's making it increasingly harder to express anything on the web. Time has come to start using the web once again the way it was originally envisioned, down to its true potential, not limited to your usual three/four big sites run by a narrow elite of big tech behemoths interested only in keeping us logged in, scrolling endlessly into oblivion. To be clear, I never had any issues with using social media as a means for self-promotion, but now I also feel the need for an alternative, something I can run all by myself, with my own rules, and with the chance to engrave my words without an expiration date or the need to fight for the user's attention amid the endless stream of shiny content scrolling before his eyes (and let's just gloss over the issue of "community standards" you gotta adhere to, for pity's sake).

I hope this website answers your questions and clarifies your doubts concerning Rotgod, and possibly fuels your curiosity by reading all the content I have filled each section with - at times retrieving and tweaking up older, long-forgotten Facebook/Instagram posts (including the various Rotgod's Art articles about album artworks), other times just writing brand new material featured on these pages only (including the deeply personal retrospectives of my older works, where I analyze them in hindsight years later).

All that, with an interface that feels highly modern (optimized both for desktop and smartphone) while retaining a fairly "vintage" look (inspired by 80's typewritten underground fanzines, now yellowed by time), and each content made available both in english and italian language, in order to be easily readable both for local-scene noise maniakks and foreign ones.

In short, this is ROTGOD.COM.
