New age mumbo-jumbo

Trivia

A grindcore song with some noisy touches. The arrangement is slightly influenced by early Carcass and Blood: it's an unusually long song for grindcore standards, you might almost call it "progressive grind" if you will! Haha!

Lyrics are a merciless mockery of new age and other spiritualistic philosophies, demolishing their assumptions about "our place in the universe", "harmony between living beings", "karma" and "rejection of ego". The cold hard truth is: we're all egotistical, self-interested beings, and no pretense of a "universal harmony between us" or a "common conscience we all share" can change this. Universal justice doesn't exist, and people who get wronged aren't always vindicated in the end: it's a war of all against all. Homo homini lupus.

Lyrics

Idealize the universe

As a sentient entity

Any fact that happens

Is part of a perfect order

You don't have to change things

Just leave 'em as they are

You have to put your mind

In harmony with the whole

"Give up on your selfishness!"

This is how you'll reach

The ultimate state of peace

By repressing your instinct

And accepting pain

"Don't worry: karma is gonna fix everything! What goes around, comes around!"

Stop this bullshit

This self-delusion

The universe is not

A cohesive entity

There's no harmony

There's no perfect order

There is only conflict

Between particular interests

Of individual living beings

Striving to survive

Selfish individualism

No alignment with harmony

There's no fucking karma (x 3)

No universal justice

What goes around

Doesn't always come around

Not a necessity

Only casuistry

New age mumbo-jumbo (x 3)

Superstitious crap

Another form of idealism

Desperate people cling to

In order to justify

The harshness of existence
