Yes, the ultimate heresy: a metal/punk song defending the modern world instead of attacking it.

It's my personal outburst against Internet reactionaries, oftentimes just hypocritical nerds who wouldn't last a second in the world they dream of. While the modern wold is by no means perfect and we still have lots of work to do, I'm definitely grateful for having been born in this time period instead of whatever other pre-enlightenment era these assholes tend to romanticize. Deus vult my ass, long live Kali Yuga.

[EDIT 2025] I'm aware that, read with today's eyes, these lyrics might look quite a bit out of touch with current events, describing a world with "less conflict and wars and less misery" - however, keep in mind this song was written at a time when this new wave of nationalism was just getting started and political tensions between different superpowers hadn't yet escalated to the insane levels of today. And still, part of the blame for this sour turn of events can easily be put on the reactionary/anti-modernist/nationalist propaganda that brought certain political figures to the forefront and granted them access to power - so yeah, the point of this song still stands regardless.
